Chosen to Be You

It’s hard to believe that the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Christmas special is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year! I’ve been watching it for as long as I can remember—and I still do. It’s one of my favorite holiday traditions.

It wasn’t until I grew older that I truly understood the message behind this beloved animated classic. What I love most is how Rudolph and Hermey refuse to let their differences define them, even when others can’t accept them for who they are—whether it’s Rudolph’s glowing red nose or Hermey’s dream of becoming a dentist. Together, they leave their hometown to carve out their own path, embracing who they are even when no one else does.

This story is a beautiful reminder that God has a unique purpose and plan behind our differences. They’re not just quirks to be overlooked—they’re opportunities for us to help one another or see the world through a different lens. Imagine how dull life would be if everyone was the same!

You might feel out of place sometimes, but that just means God has something special planned for you.
